Study permit updates

You may have read that Canada has made temporary changes to its International Student Program (ISP) for the next two years, affecting study permit issuance. Here are the key points for international graduate students:

The new cap on study permits听does not apply to Master's and Doctoral degree applicants.

Applicants for these degrees will not require听an attestation letter.

Additionally, the cost-of-living financial requirement for study permit applicants has been increased, reflecting changes in living costs. This new threshold will be updated annually. This change applies to new study permit applications received on or after January 1, 2024.
