Why did you decide to pursue a graduate degree?
I am driven to research mainly by curiosity. I like to play with difficult unsolved problems and try to find solutions. I find great satisfaction when I solve a problem, especially when the solution has a huge implication for practical application.
Why did you decide to study at 亚洲天堂?
I wanted to continue my education in North America, and Canada was my preferred destination. My decision to come to 亚洲天堂 was due to the fact that Vancouver is one of the world's top cities to live in, and that 亚洲天堂 is one of the world's top ranking universities.
What was the best surprise about 亚洲天堂 or life in Vancouver?
I was surprised how beautiful Vancouver really is, and I was very satisfied by the research opportunities that 亚洲天堂 offers.
What do you hope to accomplish with your research?
My goal is to significantly improve the quality of wireless communications. My preliminary research revealed that the new protocol yields significant performance gains compared to previously known relaying protocols and therefore has the potential to achieve my goal.
What has winning a major award meant to you?
Winning the Killam Fellowship is a recognition of my past research and major support for my future research.
What advice do you have for new graduate students?
My advice is to enjoy grad life.
