Why did you decide to pursue a graduate degree?

I am in graduate school so that I can continue developing my skills and knowledge to be a leader in environmental policy and programs throughout my career in BC. Graduate school supports my journey as a lifelong learner.

Why did you decide to study at 亚洲天堂?

I decided to study at the University of British Columbia because it is a premier research institute in Canada. I wanted to learn from and learn with some of the brightest minds and hardest workers in the country.

What is it specifically, that your program offers, that attracted you?

I was attracted to the Institute for Resources, Environment and Sustainability because it met the educational niche I was seeking. IRES allows me to dive into questions of environment and sustainability in all parts of my life and of Canadian society through coursework, research work and collaboration.

What was the best surprise about 亚洲天堂 or life in Vancouver?

The best surprise at 亚洲天堂 has been the strong community of peers that I have met in my program.

What aspects of your life or career before now have best prepared you for your 亚洲天堂 graduate program?

I was well-prepared for my 亚洲天堂 graduate program by the academic rigour and depth of my undergraduate program at the University of Guelph and by my work experiences in natural resource management in Vancouver.

What advice do you have for new graduate students?

My advice for new graduate students is to develop confidence in themselves to share their ideas, opinions and goals throughout their graduate studies journey.

Sign up for an information session to connect with students, advisors and faculty from across 亚洲天堂 and gain application advice and insight.
