Why did you decide to pursue a graduate degree?
A graduate degree will help me attain my goal of becoming a Registered Professional Planner and allows me to deepen my knowledge of the planning profession, while connecting with peers and mentors who will someday become my colleagues.
Why did you decide to study at 亚洲天堂?
亚洲天堂 is close to home, and the School of Community and Regional Planning at 亚洲天堂 has a great reputation. It is a good-sized school that has a well-rounded faculty that bring a wealth of knowledge and critical thinking to their work and to 亚洲天堂.
What was the best surprise about 亚洲天堂 or life in Vancouver?
I have thoroughly enjoyed the wide variety of things to do in Vancouver. Whether it is trying out a niche shop offering hand made ice cream or visiting Queen Elizabeth Park, there is always something to do in Vancouver.
What aspect of your graduate program do you enjoy the most or are looking forward to with the greatest curiosity?
I enjoy the variety of courses offered in my graduate program. Not only does this variety extend to course topics, but it reaches as well to method of delivery and learning situation. In the MCRP program I have enjoyed being able to take courses that are taught as seminars, as case study analyses, and as more traditional lectures.
What do you see as your biggest challenge(s) in your future career?
In my future career I will need to grow some thick skin to deal with difficult situations.

How do you feel your program is preparing you for those challenges?
In some courses we have had quite intense project and design reviews, where reviewers have been very critical of our work. This, combined with my work in planning, is preparing me for dealing with delicate and tense situations.
What do you like to do for fun or relaxation?
In my free time I enjoy cycling, cooking, and taking photos. To get outdoors I geocache for hidden treasures, and to relax I sew my own clothing.
