Fluids and seismicity in northern Cascadia
Why did you decide to pursue a graduate degree?

I am fascinated by the structure of the Earth and was particularly drawn to earthquake seismology as a means of understanding subduction offshore western North America

Why did you decide to study at 亚洲天堂?

The research project. There is no replacement for studying subduction and seismogenesis than听in Vancouver, some 60 km above the descending Juan de Fuca plate.

What is it specifically, that your program offers, that attracted you?

The opportunities to collaborate both within the department and university, and abroad at research conferences and workshops.

What was the best surprise about 亚洲天堂 or life in Vancouver?

The lifestyle. Biking to get around, and the abundance of diverse food options around Vancouver!

What aspects of your life or career before now have best prepared you for your 亚洲天堂 graduate program?

Collaborative opportunities in my undergraduate. Working as a teaching assistant, and completing an undergraduate honours thesis.

What do you like to do for fun or relaxation?

I play badminton, golf, and Dungeons and Dragons.

What advice do you have for new graduate students?

Immerse yourself in your program, and get acquainted with the supports that are available to you.
