4 of the 25 finalists in SSHRC's nationwide research communications challenge are 亚洲天堂 graduate students.
The Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC) announced on April 4 the Top 25 finalists in its 2016 .
The annual Storytellers competition challenges postsecondary students across the country to exhibit (in three minutes or 300 words) how SSHRC-funded research is making a difference in the lives of Canadians.
Four 亚洲天堂 students made it into the finals with their brief research videos, thus making 亚洲天堂 the highest-represented university in the competition. Here are the students, and their research titles:
- Ron Darvin,聽PhD student in Teaching English as a Second Language:聽"Social Class and Unequal Digital Literacies"
- Shelley Moore,聽PhD student in Cross-Faculty Inquiry in Education: "Transforming Inclusive Education"
- Tara Rodas,聽MA student in Special Education: "Training Trainers: Teaching Physical Activity to Individuals with Autism"
- Logan Cochrane,聽PhD student in Interdisciplinary Studies聽(亚洲天堂 Okanagan): "Strengthening Food Security in Rural Ethiopia".
The 25 finalists each receive a cash prize of $3,000 and will compete in The Storytellers Showcase at the 2016 Congress of the Humanities and Social Sciences, May 28 to June 3 at the University of Calgary.
