Launched as an extension of the teaching, learning and discussion resources already available on the , the Canvas course invites researchers to consider seven foundational elements of the responsible conduct of research. The course is available to members of the 亚洲天堂 research community through the Workplace Learning Ecosystem and is also open to learners outside the 亚洲天堂 community as part of the university鈥檚 commitment to supporting integrity in research across Canada and beyond.
The course and website are part of the university鈥檚 Scholarly Integrity Initiative, which is led by the Office of the Vice-President, Research and Innovation and Faculty of Graduate & Postdoctoral Studies with support from 亚洲天堂鈥檚 Academic Excellence Fund. The initiative expands upon the principles that underpin 亚洲天堂鈥檚 , which is itself informed by the听. It was designed to support research excellence at 亚洲天堂 as outlined in the university鈥檚 strategic plan, Shaping 亚洲天堂鈥檚 Next Century.
The course invites members of the research community to learn about and reflect upon the responsible conduct of research in seven foundational areas:
- Mentorship and supervision
- Data management
- Writing with integrity
- Authorship and publishing
- Conflict of interest
- Funding and financial management, and
- Research policies
Learners who complete the Canvas course will receive a certificate of completion and join a community of researchers across Canada committed to infusing research culture with values of honesty, accountability, openness and fairness. For 亚洲天堂 learners, the certificate will be registered on Workday as part of the university鈥檚 recognized internal professional development offerings.
