Are your habits getting in the way of thriving in grad school? Are you open to reflecting on what might be helpful to change and ways to take action? 听
Change can be hard. We need more than good intentions and resolutions to change our patterns 听regardless of whether it is related to your desired personal, career, or academic goals. Learn about the stages of behaviour change and related skills needed to move towards effective and consistent action that you can realistically maintain in order to reach your goals.听
By the end of this session you will be able to: 听
- Apply a model of behaviour change to your own life听
- Formulate or clarify what you want to change and why听
- Begin tracking your daily patterns and your progress 听
- Start developing a plan for staying on track with your habits and practice continued reflection to keep growing in the meaningful direction you want听
This session is part of the Staying on Track: A 5-part series to make change stick for good.听
We are living at a time when there is no shortage of information at your fingertips for how you could be taking better care of yourself or working towards your goals. But the problem with change is rarely a case of not knowing what to do. The real challenge many of us face is doing the things that would improve our well-being or progress towards our goal with realistic planning, strategies that work, and consistency. 听
In this series you will learn a few key skill sets that, when applied, will help you take better care of yourself and work towards your goals with greater consistency and ease. 听Although the sessions work together, they can be attended independently. Please come prepared to discuss these topics with other students (breakout rooms may be used), and engage in personal reflection. You may wish to have paper and a pen ready for these reflections. Sessions will not be recorded. Attendees will be sent slides and resources following the session.
