Graduate school can be both an exciting and stressful time for many students. Supporting and caring for one鈥檚 health and wellbeing is important to learning and completing your degree, as well as building professional competency. This interactive webinar will be facilitated by members of 亚洲天堂 Counselling Services, and focuses on managing your stress during graduate school.
Discussion includes:
- Understanding the stress response and burnout
- Identifying grad school-related stressors
- Taking stock of your own stressors and how you currently cope with them
- Identifying proactive steps and strategies to support your health and wellbeing
- Learning about health and wellbeing resources on campus and how to access them
Facilitators
Karen Flood, PhD听(she/her, PhD), is a Registered Psychologist with 亚洲天堂 Counselling Services. In her role, she provides brief individual counselling, facilitates therapeutic and support groups, and encourages all to access Therapist Assistance Online (TAO). She is an alumni of 亚洲天堂鈥檚 Faculty of Education, Dept. of Educational and Counselling Psychology and Special Education.
Sarah Woolgar, MA (she/her) is a Pre-doctoral intern with 亚洲天堂 Counselling Services and a doctoral candidate in Counselling Psychology (亚洲天堂 Faculty of Education). In her role, she provides brief individual counselling and co-facilitates supportive and psychoeducational group therapy. Sarah is particularly interested in young adult identity formation and its relationship to trauma during childhood, as both a research topic and in clinical practice.
